The idea of this support group began in 2012, By Vera Santana, who is the mother of a boy with Autism. The group was founded in November of 2017 and is known today as GAFFA USA Inc. With the help and support of other parents, we were able to share with each other experiences, ideas, information and giving support that families need in related situations.

Therefore, GAFFA is a support group that looks into the involvement, interactivity, and communication between families and their children with the community; it is a project in which through the work of its volunteers, has the goal to reach the development of a child. This can be done with physical activities, music, art, painting and other extra activities, such as: picnics, presentations of Gaffa's musical group and other events to promote the group.

Every person, being physical or legal, may contribute with donations or by volunteering. If so, verification of an available volunteer job will be necessary. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated and of great help for present and future project renovations in order to help reach families in need.

Conclusively, it is important to not give up and  believe in the possibility of growth every day. We believe in the development, learning, and socialization of children with autism. It is very important to encompass the entire family and have siblings to interact with each other in the same activities in order to live with more love, harmony and comprehension rather then with prejudice or discrimination. The acceptance of one's family is also important and is gratifying to have all participating together.
